Kent Island Mechanical

I interned at Kent Island Mechanical over the Summer of 2021. I worked under a Project Manager and assisted with various tasks like Highlighting Blue Prints to identify each system for easier demolition and installation, drafting Purchase Orders for equipment needed, and assisting with equipment assessments for repurposing. Kent Island Mechanical works primarily in labs and hospital spaces, so I learned to adapt to changing parameters in high stake environments like the Veterans Affairs Hospital in DC and the National Institue of Health. Additionally, I prepared a tutorial presentation and guide to help employees learn to transition and use the software BlueBeam.

This internship helped me develop multitasking skills to work on different projects simultaneously, as well as communication skills to communicate complex engineering ideas to nonengineers, and communicate with ideas between the foremen and the general contractor.

At the conclusion of my internship, my final task was to create a Shutterfly book outlining all his projects and achievements to celebrate his success and for future interns to reference to see what they can expect at Kent Island Mechanical.

I'm grateful for the opportunity that Kent Island Mechanical provided and the skills that they helped me develop.
